We find ourselves here again in the limbo that is a transitional season. Every time the weather changes I feel invigorated to transform and start fresh (probably a fairly natural feeling for most of us) and shed my old layers. This time the shedding is quietly literally happening as I can not be bothered with thick heavy layers any longer. I am full day dreaming of sun on my legs (and face and arms and really anywhere). I have pinned more than handful of white cotton sundress looks in the past 2 days alone and have already stocked up on beads to make more “summer camp” style bead necklaces, the jewelry I live in all summer long. With all that being said, I have naturally been inclined to start perusing the world wide web for what some of my favorite brands are putting out this spring, as well as looking for some specific styles via Etsy and The Real Real.
It’s really my own fault I’ve already been spring window shopping. I worked on my spring runway newsletter (See here: Rehashing The Runways) a few weeks ago and have not been able to get a few key looks and colors out of my brain. I’m craving the brightness of the Lacoste runway, the sheer pieces at Tory Burch and Akris, the slip skirts at Dries, The Garment’s take on vintage inspired apron dresses, high summer safari at Hermes, and Bode’s coastal Americana vibe- swoon, swoon, swoon again. Below you will find what I’ve been window shopping and what I would do with it if it were in my closet!
I’d like to note that I highly encourage anyone who sees this and likes one of the pieces, to try and find a brick and mortar store to shop at. It’s so so important to support the physical shops we have around us and believe me, I know it can be challenging (I grew up in a town with little to no great shopping experiences), but even finding a small boutique online that ships out their own pieces is a great way to connect more to retail and the places and people we buy from. Just a little retail PSA from me <3
Now: Happy window shopping!!
